Final quality inspection brings the agreed product and packing requirements together before shipment. It reviews whether the goods presented for inspection correspond to the approved sample, order specification and labeling instructions.
Pilevanta Carpet Tiles coordinates final inspection requirements with the responsible production partners for wholesale, OEM and private label orders. The inspection scope, sampling arrangements and required records should be established before the goods are ready for review.
Confirm the Order Reference
The inspection reference should include the current product specification, approved sample, model and color list, quantities and packaging instructions. Any approved changes need to be reflected in these documents.
This avoids comparing finished goods against an outdated sample or label draft. For orders involving several models or colors, each item should remain identifiable throughout inspection and packing. Requirements can be established through the OEM order process.
Review Surface Appearance and Color
Selected tiles are compared with the approved appearance reference under consistent viewing conditions. The review covers pile texture, visible contamination, localized damage and unexpected pattern differences.
Pile direction should be aligned when comparing color. Adjacent layouts follow the selected product’s installation guidance so that intended directional shading is distinguished from an appearance concern. Photographs can document findings, but they should retain enough context to identify the affected product.
Check Dimensions, Backing and Edge Finish
Length, width, squareness and visible flatness are reviewed according to the agreed inspection procedure. Backing surfaces, cut edges and corners are checked for issues that could affect handling or adjacent tile fit.
These observations connect with dimensional and backing inspection. Where a concern is found, the record should identify its location and nature rather than rely on a general description such as “poor quality.”
Verify Product Labels and Quantities
Model, color and batch information are checked against the order records and approved label artwork. Private label orders also require attention to brand wording, supplier references and carton marking instructions.
Quantities, pieces per carton and stated coverage should correspond to the confirmed packing specification. Printed barcode content can be reviewed, but a visual check should not be described as successful scan verification unless that check was actually performed and recorded.
Review Carton Packing and Protection
Packing is reviewed for carton suitability, flat stacking, edge protection and visible damage. The arrangement should suit the tile dimensions and construction without forcing pieces into a distorted position.
Carton labels and packing records should remain connected to the goods inside. Any pallet or shipment marking requirements need to follow the agreed packaging and export preparation instructions.
Record Findings and Resolve Open Issues
Inspection records should identify the products reviewed, the agreed scope and any findings requiring action. Corrective work or further review needs to be documented before the relevant goods are released.
A sampling inspection describes the pieces and conditions reviewed. It does not mean every tile was individually examined or replace any separately required performance testing. Buyers requesting an independent inspection organization should confirm the arrangements early.
What We Need for a Quote
